Why Should I Pursue Therapy?

In this past decade, the world has experienced so many traumatic events, and people have been “suffering in silence”. There has been a “stigma” surrounding mental health therapy and it is time to change this perception. If you have ever thought about therapy for yourself, what could be the harm in giving it a try?

We readily access healthcare when we don’t feel well, but we forget that our minds and emotions need just as much attention as our bodies. Therapy is meant to teach skills beyond what an individual knows, has learned and has done in their lives. There are so many reasons to try therapy and being open to the idea of therapy can only change you as a human being. What better way to show your family and friends that you have made changes, than doing the work to become a better person not only for them, but most importantly for YOURSELF.

If this is something you think you’re interested in but still not sure, please feel free to request a FREE 15-minute consultation with Therapeutic Journeys to get all your questions answered. Let’s work together in your first step to become a better YOU!!! Let the journey begin!!!

Disclaimer:

Therapy is not a “one-stop shop” to curing anyone, it is a journey that you have to be fully committed to. It is not something that will cure “all your problems” you have to be open and willing to do the work on YOURSELF. Furthermore, throughout your therapy journey, please advocate for yourself. If you begin to feel that Therapeutic Journeys is not the right “fit” for you, please let your therapist know and we will be happy to help you find someone that better fits your therapeutic goals.

If at any time, you have thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please inform your therapist AND also dial 988 which is the National Suicide and Crisis hotline. Just know help is always available if you need it.

Sometimes it’s the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination.
